I watched in horror last Wednesday night as tornados passed through my former home state of Alabama. I followed friends on Twitter as the storm approached and then went through Tuscaloosa. I tried texting friends to see if they were okay. A couple of hours later they finally were able to text back. As one commentator noted, this was a “crowd-sourced disaster”, with videos and reporting coming from YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter faster, at times, than through the news. Below are some of the dramatic images that were captured by terrified videographers. The power of this tornado was unbelievable. My thoughts and prayers are with my friends and family in Alabama, and all the people impacted by this disastrous day.
